Privacy
Spinotto is a free game with no ads, no sign-up and no cookies. This page explains which data it uses and why.
What stays on your device
The game stores in the browser's storage (not cookies) your preferences (language, sound), your best score, the name you choose for the leaderboard and a random code that identifies the device. You can delete them by clearing this site's data in your browser.
What reaches the server
- Leaderboard, only if you choose to join it: the name you type (visible to everyone), metres, the day you reached and the device's random code. Don't use your real name or other personal data: a filter rejects insults, links, emails and phone numbers.
- Anonymous statistics: how many games are played, which day players reach, how long games last, how often people share. They tell us whether the game is liked. They are daily counters tied only to the random code, not to you. To know who comes back another day, the date of each random code's first game is also kept.
- Abuse protection: to limit floods of requests, the server uses a hashed fingerprint of your IP address for two minutes; the address itself is not stored.
Where and for how long
The site is hosted by Vercel; leaderboard and statistics live in an Upstash database. Daily challenge leaderboards are deleted after 10 days, statistics after 120 days, the all-time leaderboard stays while the game is online or until you ask to remove your name.
Removing your name
Write to ops@rendilab.com with the name shown on the leaderboard and I'll remove it. Offensive names or names with personal data are removed without a request.
